Leeds Signing Report.
We had a great day out in Leeds on Monday.
OK Comics is lovely little establishement which we heartily endorse. If we lived in Leeds we'd never be out of the place.
Jarrod and the lads looked after us really well during the day; filling us full of coffee and smiling politley as we talked a load of rubbish at them.
Thanks to everyone who popped in and chatted to us and got us to scrawl on their copies of Albion and The End Is Nigh.
The OK Comics staff.

We'd never met Mr. Al Ewing before Monday but we really enjoyed his company and managed to get our mitts on some of his splendid Beat Girl Comics which are bloody hilarious.
Al Ewing.
Al Ewing.
After the signing we all adjourned to lovely little pub called The Angel where we ended up staying until about 10 o'clock. A round for seven people never came to more than a tenner! Good times!
Mike "Kong My Whopper" Molcher.
Mike Molcher (yes he really is that tall) is grinning because he's the editor of the best magazine in the world and everyone knows it!
The End Is Nigh is now available at Travelling Man comic shops accross the UK.
If you don't have a Travelling Man near you then march into your nearest comic shop and ask them if they have a copy.
If they don't then get them to order some in! All they have to do is email endisnigheditor@yahoo.co.uk and request some mags.
Get buying/ordering/reading!

A couple of copies of The Spider - King Of Crooks arrived today.
Lovely big hardbacks they are too (we were expecting paperbacks for some reason).

- The End Is Nigh #2 - War, featuring contributions from too many cool people to mention will be on sale for three pounds and ninety nine pence
- The Death Camp Jones folks will be there flogging Pony School, Action Stations and other filth for around two pounds a go
- Future Quake #5 will be on sale for three pound fifty along with its new all Manga spin off publication Manga Quake for two pound fifty
- Engine Comics will be there flogging Red Eye #5 (three pounds) and tonnes of other great stuff
- Make sure to check in on Gary Millidge and pick up your copies of Strangehaven #18 or the Conspiracies TPB if you haven't already got them
- And keep an eye out for Solar Wind, Omnivistascope and Doomlord which are bound to be somewhere around
Lots and lots of cool guests and lots and lots of lovely comics. Should be a good weekend.
Enjoy yourselves!

Yes, there's been a bit of hush-hushed mention of this project in the past but we can now reveal the facts.
Leah and I have signed up to do an 11 page story for the forthcoming Th3rd World Studios: Space Doubles series.
Our artist on the project is going to be the very talented Mr. Adam Geen and we'll be sharing the issue (out around June 2006 if all goes well) with Trigger writer Jason Hall.
We're very excited. :)

Signed V for Vendetta posters...FAKES!!!
This is one of the most foolhardy things I have seen all year. Some bright spark in Australia has decided that the V for Vendetta Film posters would sell for lots more money if they were signed. The posters went on eBay earlier this month and sold to several people. The thing is they were not only "signed" by the cast members but also Alan Moore, my dad and the worlds least enthusiastic 'V for vendetta- the movie' fan. If any of the signatures are real I will eat my copy of V with ketchup. Its not helped by the fact that all of them are done in the same pen, meaning that the cast and my dad got together one day in a cosy little room, sat down and signed these posters all together....Imagine the little bits of banter...
"Mr Moore can you pass me another silver pen...mine's run out..."
"certainly Ms Portman or may I call you Natalie?"
Dad has vehemently opposed being connected with this film, he has not taken any of the option money, and has told Joel Silver personally how he feels about it.
The idea of him signing posters is hilarious. I know they were forged by some abysmal poster selling twerp, but it seems they have not researched their stock even slightly. I feel very sorry for all those who bought these items with their hard earned cash and would advise them to request a refund, leave bad feedback and contact eBay about the forgeries.
The seller says: "Each poster, without exception, is an original HAND SIGNED collectible by all the castmembers listed. We do not sell any reproductions of any kind, and completely guarantee each poster's authenticity. NOT an inkjet print, NOT an autopen, NOT a copy of any sort. This is a studio printed poster direct from the production studio. The poster you see in this listing is the poster you will receive. Every collectible at MovieArtHouse has been authenticated and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity . Our Certificate of Authenticity is recognized by every major insurance carrier worldwide and we financially stand behind it. We have an outstanding reputation for the thoroughness of our research, for our business integrity and for our service to our clients. "
which sounds pretty authentic...Unless you see the jpeg of the actual poster...
My dad's signature is notorioiusly very easy to forge (not that i ever have of course!) but this is not even close... a peremptory glance at another Alan Moore Signature would reveal the disparity.
Ah well, I hope future buyers from this ebayer will be more careful. The fact that he has sold over 400 items and only has 2 negative feedbacks is really alarming. Ebayer Beware!
Thanks to Rich Johnston at Lying in The Gutters for this tip off, well spotted that man!

DEC Asia Quake Appeal
Click on the screen shot (above) to go to the DEC website and make a donation.
This earthquake has wiped out entire villages and at least 20,000 people are feared dead, with many more injured and without shelter. Pakistan is worst hit, but parts of India and Afghanistan are also affected. Many of the people involved live in isolated communities, cut off and desperately in need of help.

Moore & Reppion signed up for Dark Horse project
Contracts signed today for new project.
We are happy to say that we will be contributing a story to the next in the "Dark Horse Book Of..." series, which is all about Monsters! We are going to pull out all the stops on this one, and write our arses off. It's not every day you share a book with giants of the industry! (well okay it is, but you know what i mean...apart from him!) We couldnt be more pleased with DH as employers, quick and efficient with the paperwork and a firm editorial hand on the tiller. It's sheer quality. :D

Box Of Issue 3s Arrived Today
Cover by Dave Gibbons.
I was unexpectedly awakened by The Fed Ex man delivering our boxes of Albion #3 this morning.
We usually get our comps the week before the book reaches the shops so the optimist in me wants to say "Look out for issue three next week" but I've already been stringing you all on with my "next week" nonsense for a fortnight or so.
Tell you what, just ask at your local comic shop for details. ;)

3 Days Left On The Albion Ashcan Auction
3 days 9 hours to be exact and we're only up to £26!
Come on folks, it's all for charity after all.
The item's been looked at nearly 400 times now and quite a few people have it on their "watch list".
Are you planning on waiting 'til the auction's just about to end and then going bidding crazy?
I bet you are!

Albion Ashcan Charity Auction #1.1
Tuesday, September 06, 2005
Signed Albion Ashcan Charity Auction #1
eBay have pulled the listing for being "in breach of eBay's Charity policy".
We apologise and will let you know as soon as this farce is sorted out.
I've just finished putting an ashcan, signed by
ALAN MOORE
DAVE GIBBONS
SHANE OAKLEY
LEAH MOORE & JOHN REPPION
on eBay.
As Im sure you're all aware, only 500 of these ashcans exsist, so this one, signed by all five of Albions main contributors, is a rare thing indeed.
It's a 10 day listing so the auction will end 16th September 2005 02:47 am (BST)
Auction URL: HERE
The starting price is a mere ten pounds stirling and all proceeds will go to our old friends The Builth Balkan Crew (http://www.builthbalkancrew.com/)
Dig deep and happy bidding!

Signing at Travelling Man goes swimmingly!
The Boys at Travelling man Manchester...and very nice they were too!
We had a good turnout, sold quite a few comics and had a very nice afternoon hanging about and chatting to the boys. Thanks to Dan, Tom, Adam, and Haroum for making us welcome, and for the drawings! ;)
we gave away twenty of the signed limited edition 'prints' which Shane sent along in his absence. This means we have a few left, so we'll ask Shane what he wants us to do...watch this space!
The Travelling man got us to sign a few copies to send out to their other branches in Newcastle, Nottingham, Leeds and...somewhere else i forgot. No need to miss out! if you have a comic shop in the country and you'd like us to do a signing get in touch and we'll see if we can do it.
